As an illustrator, I like to look at drawing prompts for inspiration. Also monsters are cool. Also, there are a lot of monsters out there with their own lore and a dedicated fanbase that knows exactly what they look like, which is nice, but sometimes a girl needs a little mystery in her life.

I just wanted to be able to generate drawing prompts without a preexisting canon to influence the look of the design. Is this monster going to be something plausible? Who knows! Will it be something new? The chances are very high!

Coded in Twine. Currently a work in progress. Pretty crude at the moment, but a good start, I suppose. I want to add some more descriptors as well as different modes of generating monsters (for example you could choose to leave out particular parameters or only create monsters with implausible amounts of limbs, etc.).

Also, if you find any interesting monsters, I'd love to see them! :)

You can download this file for use offline if you want. It should work on any device that has a web browser.

Also, you can view and edit the source code in Twine. This was made in Twine 1.4 though, so I'm not sure if it's compatible with a newer version of Twine.

I'm glad I found this again after losing all my bookmarks when the computer died.  I'm a GM of the rpg Dragon Storm, and have used this to create monsters.  I'd like to share the link with my gaming community, if that's all right.

My most successful creature from here had this description:

You are spelunking and you blink to find yourself thinking about something strange.
‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌This monster has ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌8 arms, 3 torsos, 3 wings, 4 tails.‌‌‌‌
‌‌‌This monster invades your thoughts like Hell.‌
‌It wants a lock of your hair.‌

I had it brachiating through the trees with its tails instead of a cave encounter, but even before the players could see it, they were getting segments of songs from the musical Hair sung directly into their minds. Its arms ended in scissor-like claws so it could shear people.

Omg... Wow that so good. :''')

Also, I'm glad you found it useful! I love hearing about all of the weird stuff people generate. <3
